This episode contains about the Thanksgiving celebration of four families in the Upper East Side. Waldorf family, Van der Woodsen, Archibald, and Humphrey.
Thanksgiving last year, the Waldorf and Humphrey families were still intact with members of their families. However, a year seems to be enough time for a family to experience loss and presence again.
Thanksgiving last year, it turns out Serena and Dan have met each other by accident. Serena who was at the time with Blair, apparently drunk and not careful when crossing the road until almost hit by a vehicle that passes on the road that she passed. Luck sided with Serena, she who was almost hit was rescued by Dan who happened to be in the same place after buying pie. Serena survived, but the pie is not. The drunken Serena condition, apparently not remembering the incident on Thanksgiving this year.
Serena then celebrated Thanksgiving at the Waldorf's residence, along with Nate and Blair. Thanksgiving last year was very memorable for the Waldorf family, because in that year the Waldorf family is still intact, Blair's father has not been trapped with a love game with a male model named Ramon, until he left Eleanor and Blair to Europe. The relationship of Nate, Blair, and Serena are also very close to each other at that moment.
But this year, Serena became an uninvited guest on the Thanksgiving ceremony at Blair's residence after a minor dispute between Serena and Blair about the proximity of Blair to Chuck. Blair did not accept the attitude that seemed to blame Serena for Blair having acted out of the limit with Chuck at her birthday party yesterday.
Because it was canceled to be a guest on the Thanksgiving ceremony at the residence of Waldorf, Lily, Serena, and Eric then strolled in the market for groceries. They plan to celebrate Thanksgiving by trying to cook home cooking at their residence. But good news came from and over the phone, after Serena revealed that she did not celebrate Thanksgiving at Blair's residence, and finally invited Serena's family to celebrate Thanksgiving at Humphrey's residence. Lily, of course tried to refuse the invitation by saying she was not well. However, Dan insisted to taking Lily Van der Woodsen to go to his home to celebrate Thanksgiving. She certainly could not resist, but she knew that she had to convince Rufus to keep a little secret about the past they had shared. Lily tries to contact his cell phone, informs him that she will take the invitation and to celebrate Thanksgiving at Rufus's residence.
Glance back to the Thanksgiving celebration at the Waldorf's residence. Blair who is disappointed by her father's absence, then vent her anger at her mother for knowing that her mother is calling her father to confirm that he does not need to go home.
Van der Woodsen's family arrived at Humphrey's residence. And how surprised Lily saw Alison who had returned home, so did Alison who was surprised by the arrival of Lily to her house. After that, the awkwardness in the chatter and attitude between Rufus, Lily, and Alison was beginning to be seen in front of their children. Serena, suddenly got a call from Blair, and after goodbye to the Humphrey's family, she immediately approached Blair to her home.
After apparently a stiff and tense atmosphere between Lily, Rufus, and Alison also took them to inevitably admit to the children regarding little secrets about the past Lily and Rufus. The situation became even more uncontrollable when Lily, Rufus, and Alison talked to each other, resulting in disagreements between them.
The arrival of Serena to Blair's residence is enough to make Blair more calm, and to remove Blair sadness, Serena intend to invite Blair to celebrate Thanksgiving at Humphrey's residence. Serena and Blair then come to Dan's residence, and there finally Serena and Blair know what happened to Rufus, Lily, and Alison. When the situation got tense, Van der Woodsen family and Humphrey family decided to end their celebration together and chose to celebrate with their own families. And that proved to be enough to bring happiness to their families.
Meanwhile, Blair returns to her home, trying to talk to her mother well. On that occasion Eleanor revealed to Blair that her father had filed a divorce to her, but she still had not signed the letter. Blair understands Eleanor's feelings, and seems to have turned her back on her mother after previously showing her longing for her unstoppable father.
Switched to the Archibald family, it seemed that Nate's mother could not accept the fact of the end of the relationship between Nate and Blair. In the middle of a meal at a Thanksgiving celebration at his residence, Nate's mother continues to blame Nate for what happened to the life and business built by his father. Nate does not accept it, but it seems that the father is not as strong as Nate in accepting his wife's intervention in managing his life. Nate's father was found lying in his home and immediately rushed to the hospital. From hospital care that it was noticed that Nate's father tried to end his life by drinking drugs and alcohol simultaneously, but Nate's mother still did not want to believe it.
Nate then began to understand his father's position in the family, and as an Archibald family businessman. Nate then approaches his father slowly, and begins to encourage his father to survive.
This year's Thanksgiving seems to be that every Waldorf, Van der Woodsen, Humphrey, and Archibald chooses to celebrate with their own family members.
