Blair and Marcus who continue their relationship in a more serious direction, finds Chuck trying to familiarize himself with Marcus. Blair suspects that Chuck must have a plan about his relationship with Marcus, and asks Chuck to stay away. While Marcus apparently invites Blair for lunch with The Duchess, but Blair is too nervous and avoids him by inviting Marcus to attend the party he held at her home.
While Nate who returns to town with Chuck, trying to hide his frantic thoughts when he had previously heard from his mother that his house and his assets in the city were confiscated by the court in redemption of his father's fault. And the surprise was soon received by Nate when he got home, the FBI agent was already at his house confiscating his belongings and his family's property. No one can be relied upon as a friend to talk, Nate then tells his family problems to Vanessa. While Nate's mother then informed him that she had borrowed enormous amounts to save her family's assets. Apparently the loan came from Chuck, and Nate did not agree to accept it.
While in town, Rufus gets a surprise from Vanessa by renovating his art gallery very well.
Marcus and Chuck relationships begin to become familiar when they play squats together, with the intention of Chuck that he does not want to be rivaled by Marcus in getting Blair.
When they arrived in town, Dan and Serena discussed their relationship briefly, and intend to continue their conversation back at the party held by Blair.
Blair found her party to attract the attention of Marcus was pretty boring. Until Dan come with Serena, which Blair considers as first aid because it is convinced Dan can build a good conversation and commensurate with Marcus because of the vast knowledge that Dan have.
Then Blair's boredom turns to anger when Chuck comes to his party with a beautiful woman much older than Chuck. Blair does not know that the woman is Catherine, The Duchess, Marcus's stepmother. So Blair mocks Chuck by inviting an elderly woman who tries to maintain her beauty by performing a series of excessive treatments. It managed to give a bad impression of Blair against Catherine.
After Blair to know that Catherine is The Duchess, Blair apologize directly to The Duchess who then immediately refused. Amid the uncomfortable condition, Nate suddenly comes to Blair's party, and awkward moment also takes place when Nate and Catherine meet each other at Blair party.
Aware of the presence of Nate at Blair's party, Catherine immediately invites Nate to meet secretly in the library to eliminate loneliness. In the meeting Nate tells about the financial problems being experienced by his family. Catherine thoughtlessly immediately offered to help Nate to solve the problem, in exchange for Nate having to continue their dark relationship.
On the other hand, Blair still feels anxiety because she feels she has displayed a bad image in front of The Duchess, so she seeks and gets information from Dorotha that The Duchess is in the library. Blair also follow to the library, and how surprised she was when found Nate and The Duchess was making out in the library. This opportunity take advantage to Blair to blackmail The Duchess to approve the relationship with Marcus. This success makes Blair immediately declare her victory in the presence of Chuck.
While at the end of the story, Dan and Jenny Humphrey celebrated the joy they felt after Rufus returned from his long musical tour.
