This episode is marked by the increasingly serious relationship between Blair and Marcus, but Blair slightly disappointed because of Marcus attitude that is so respectful that they never feel the way together like a pair of lovers. While Chuck still can not turn away from Blair.

Meanwhile, Vanessa tells about her upset after Nate dumps her, then Jenny supports Vanessa to first contact Nate in order to have a better relationship. Vanessa finally ventured to contact Nate to plan a meeting between them. Nate is certainly very happy to accept Vanessa's invitation, but he must secretly conceal it from Catherine because of the agreement that has taken place between Nate and Catherine to take advantage of each other. But apparently, Catherine is a possessive lover. She stalked Nate with Vanessa, and asked about the identity of Vanessa to Blair.
Then on the advice of Catherine, Blair invites Nate and Vanessa to come to her party. But Nate who later learned that Catherine will come to the party, then be alert to Blair or Catherine does not interfere with his relationship with Vanessa.
Nate's unusual behavior lately keeps Vanessa feeling disappointed by Nate, until Vanessa knows the connection between Nate and Catherine.
Vanessa is angry with Nate, but Nate tries to explain to Vanessa that his relationship with Catherine is solely for money, to help his family's troubled financial condition.

At the party, Chuck keep trying to tease Blair. While Catherine who feels losing her partner at the party, asks Blair the whereabouts of Nate. Blair who does not want to interfere in the relationship between Catherine and Nate responds briefly that maybe Nate is with Vanessa, and tells Catherine to let it happen if so. Blair answers make Catherine offended and lecture Blair that Nate is very meaningful for Catherine because Nate able to make Catherine become more alive, unlike her husband.

While Nate who was with Vanessa, trying to explain more about his relationship with Catherine, and revealed to Vanessa that to be honest Nate really wanted to be with Vanessa. Receiving an explanation from Nate, Vanessa tries to encourage Nate to continue to struggle to solve his family's problems, and Vanessa promises that she will continue to wait for Nate until all his problems are over.

After the meeting between Nate and Vanessa, Catherine then approaches Vanessa and intimidates her, which then makes Vanessa suddenly come to Nate to break their relationship, and go straight away leaving Nate. Of course Nate felt there was something strange about Vanessa's attitude, but he did not have a chance to ask any explanation from Vanessa.

On the other hand, take advantage of the darkness that occurred due to electrical problems at the party, Blair asked Marcus to come to her room with the aim that they can make out together. But, Chuck who heard the invitation of Blair to Marcus, also tried to take advantage of the situation by first coming to Blair in her room before Marcus. Chuck was making out with Blair, coinciding with the arrival of Marcus to Blair room who was surprised to see togetherness between her lover with Chuck. Blair and Marcus also disagree. Blair confesses that she knows who goes into her room is Chuck, but she is desperate because of the attitude of Marcus who never showed even to Blair that Marcus considered Blair interesting. Blair just asks Marcus to show him that Marcus is really interested in her.

Move on to the relationship between Dan and the better Serena. Jenny and Rufus are very happy about the news, but not with Blair who thinks that Serena and Dan still have to evaluate beforehand about the relationship they have before deciding to return together.
Serena and Dan on their way to the Blair party, trapped inside a jammed elevator because the Upper East Side is damaged by mass electricity. Togetherness makes them inadvertently talk about their relationship that seems troubled by the status and identity of each other. Serena can not be someone else who Dan wants, nor does it. However they want to be together, it will be a problem in their relationship. Finally Serena and Dan decided to end their relationship, this makes the heart of Dan and Serena destroyed.

While Jenny still struggling with her work in Eleanor Waldorf Design. One interesting thing is that Jenny has her own appraisal of the Eleanor design gown, she argues that it should not be made in the way Eleanor did. But as a junior, Jenny found herself unable to get her idea out of the place. Until at a time when the employees had left the workplace, Jenny did a little improvement from Eleanor designed dress. How unlucky Jenny when her actions are known by Eleanor who just returned from abroad. Eleanor did not like Jenny's deeds to her work, so without a second thought Eleanor immediately fired Jenny from her office.
Jenny who then has finished packing her things to go from Eleanor Waldorf Design, go to Eleanor who is still in her office to say goodbye. But unexpectedly, Eleanor just ask Jenny opinion about the previous design. Jenny hesitated, but then she expressed her opinion and criticism of the Eleanor design gown. Eleanor looks unhappy, but she can accept it well. Eleanor then has another judgment on Jenny, she begins to appreciate Jenny's opinion and asks Jenny's help to work with her in Eleanor Waldorf Design.
This of course makes Jenny very happy, coupled with the sudden arrival of Rufus to Eleanor's office with his date, with the aim to pick up Jenny home safely in the middle of power outages across the city.

This episode closes with the togetherness between Dan and vanessa who both lost their lovers. vanessa told Dan that she was forced to leave Nate because Catherine threatened to report to FBI about the whereabouts of Nate's father if Nate was still in contact with Vanessa.
