This time, Serena, Eric, and Chuck each get a special gift from Bart. But their fun did not last long as they got information about the guides Lily and Bart compiled to live together. Such guidelines include limiting intercourse, curfew, and habits performed by Serena, Eric, and Chuck. Knowing this, Serena expressed her disappointment at not wanting her life arranged by Lily and Bart. Pessimism as it culminated in knowing from Chuck that the guide was made by Lily and Bart solely to provide a good image of his family in front of his prospective client, in order for Bart to obtain a business deal. The well-mentioned image will be shown on the eve of the celebration of the new house of Lily and Bart residence to be held in the near future. Therefore, Serena self-esteem makes Bart disappointed by behaving like an unruly brat, who then gets a reprimand from Lily regarding her behavior.
Switched to a Blair and Serena meeting chatting casually at a place to eat, Eric came and introduced his new boyfriend named Jonathan. Serena and Blair welcome both Eric and Jonathan. Eric declares that he will take Jonathan to a celebration party of new homes Bart and Lily. But then after Serena know that Bart rejected the arrival of Jonathan, Serena increasingly annoyed with the treatment of excessive Lily and Bart for the good image that want to appear in public. Actually Eric can understand the action of Lily and Bart, but Serena not at all.
Finally at the celebration party of the new house of Bart and Lily, Serena perform an act that successfully embarrass Lily and Bart in front of the guests by saying that the harmony of their household life is imaging and not really happening. Serena also expressed her disappointment to Lily that only emphasizes imaging compared with building a real affinity emotionally with herself and Eric.
After spilling her heart in front of everyone, Serena leave.
The new friendship takes place between Dan and Nate getting familiar with the invitations to Dan by Nate to get into the football club at school. Dan who accidentally went to Nate's house to pick up Nate to practice soccer together, was very surprised to find that Nate had been living in a house in a state of extreme concern. Empty homes because of the confiscated items, there were only a few clothes, a sleeping bag, and a dead state of electricity.
Knowing it, Dan feeling sorry for Nate, and telling the condition of his friend to Jenny. Smartly, Jenny asks Dan invites Nate to eat together at home as well as to ask Nate to stay with them rather than having to stay at his home in such a state of concern.
Then Nate came to meet the invitation. Nate felt a genuine acceptance from the family to him. But when Dan offering assistance to Nate to give him a lift, Nate was offended and then left from the Humphrey residence.
On the other hand, Blair who suddenly gets bullied from Vanessa who still has evidence of an ex-lover's Blair affair, asks Blair to support Vanessa in the campaign of saving an old bar in order not to be evicted by the local government. Do not accept the treatment of Vanessa to her, Blair ask for help of Chuck to overcome Vanessa.
Then Chuck comes to Vanessa to make an offer for the bar in question can he buy with the promise that he will continue to preserve it. Vanessa, who at first did consider a dangerous Chuck, gave a negative response to the arrival of Chuck.
Not usually, Chuck also surrendered with Blair request. But Blair forces Chuck to continue pursuing Vanessa, promising that she will give herself to Chuck if Chuck manages to deceive Vanessa. Chuck also can not refuse Blair request for waiting for redemption promise if he managed to do what Blair ask.
Chuck finally came back to Vanessa and managed to convince him to release the old bar into his hands to be taken over. Vanessa also agrees and has a new appraisal of Chuck that is apparently not as bad as she imagined.
But Vanessa's judgment on the good of Chuck must collapse when Blair suddenly tells Vanessa that Chuck is just playing with her. Vanessa was very disappointed to Chuck. Whereas in the heart Chuck really sincerely want to help Vanessa, not because of the reward promised by Blair.
Finally because Blair thinks chuck has managed to deceive Vanessa, she also gave what she promised to Chuck, that is herself. But apparently Chuck is still a man who has self-esteem. Chuck asks Blair to say the three words and eight letters he needs, but apparently Blair can not tell because it has high prestige. Because that Chuck then leave the desperate Blair of him. Chuck and Blair both know that they need each other, but no one wants to admit it first. Chuck then gives a new game to Blair so this time turned into Blair Chuck.
Back to Serena who apparently was in front of the house of Nate to try to pour out her heart to Nate for what she experienced with her family, accidentally saw Dan who also came to the house of Nate. On the terrace of Nate house they finally talk for the first time after they break up and have a bad relationship. Serena tells of the family problems she shared with Lily. Dan listen well and make Serena quieter. Serena was grateful to him and for being someone who would listen to his story. Serena then go home because she was surprised by Bart picked her up to the Nate's house on the advice of Eric.
When she got home, Serena found all the guests had left. There is only Bart, Lily, Serena, and Eric. The moment is used by Lily to apologize to Serena because it has been a bad mother for Serena and Eric for this. Things get better and make them more familiar with each other.
This episode concludes with success and brings home Nate to his home to live with. Rufus and Jenny certainly received the arrival of Nate with the warmth of the family who had been Nate need.
