Vicky and Cristina, two friends who have similarities in almost everything except romance. To spend the summer, they decided to vacation in Barcelona, stayed in Judy's residence, relatives from Vicky.
The arrival of Vicky and Cristina in Barcelona was well received by Judy and Mark, by taking them on a bar while Vicky steeped in the typical cuisine and music of the country. Until one day they went together to an opening art gallery. In the event, Vicky and Cristina then know the figure of a painter who, according to the news has a sad wedding story, named Juan Antonio.

Finished from the opening ceremony of the art gallery, Vicky and Cristina dinner together at a restaurant. In the restaurant apparently Juan Antonio was also having dinner at another table with a group of people. Vicky then realizes that Juan Antonio has repeatedly cast his eyes on herself and Cristina. Then Juan antonio came to Vicky and Cristina's table. They get to know briefly and Juan Antonio immediately ventured to invite Vicky and Cristina to spend the holidays in Oviedo.
Vicky of course feels weird with the attitude of Juan Antonio who just knew them but immediately dared to invite them to go together. How shocked and offended Vicky to know that Juan Antonio invites them on vacation is because they think they are physically attractive.
Vicky who already has a fiancée and will soon marry immediately rejected the invitation of Juan Antonio, but Cristina apparently can not hide her interest to Juan Antonio and accept his invitation to vacation to Oviedo. Because it can not allow Cristina to go alone, Vicky is finally willing to go, solely to keep Cristina. Eventually all three of them went to Oviedo.
Once in Oviedo, the three of them spend their time walking, taking pictures, chatting about things like art, life, even food.
Until it was time to go back to hotel and rest. Vicky and Cristina live in a separate room with Juan Antonio. But Juan Antonio dare to invite Vicky and Cristina to spend the night with him in one room. Vicky is nauseated with the attitude of Juan Antonio whom he deems to have no manners. But Cristina accepted the invitation and went to Antonio's room. Cristina and Juan Antonio started talking and getting more familiar. But when their conversation and gesture leads to more intimate action, suddenly Cristina stops and complains of pain. After being examined by a health worker, it appears that the stomach problem that Cristina has had relapsed that night.

Because of the pain she felt, Cristina was forced to rest in the hotel room completely. Until Vicky was forced to walk alone with Juan Antonio in the next day. Juan Antonio invites Vicky to his father's residence as an artist, and goes on to have dinner together, then sees a Spanish guitar show. Vicky really enjoy her day with Juan Antonio, until when her fiancé calls even Vicky accept reluctantly.
The reluctance was captured by Juan Antonio who then asked about the private life of Vicky. Vicky replied that she will soon be married a few months ahead. But apparently Juan Antonio then expressed his interest in Vicky and thought Vicky was a beautiful woman he had met. Received Antonio's words, Vicky was flattered and did not resist when Antonio kissed her.

The story that night did not Vicky tell Cristina until finally they came home from Oviedo. Along the way, Cristina raved about her feelings of guilt to Vicky and Juan antonio for having ruined the holiday with the pain she felt.
Back in Barcelona, Vicky busied herself in the local library to distract her thoughts about Juan Antonio. While Cristina then receives a call from Juan Antonio to get back to meet, Vicky receives a surprise from her fiancé who invites her to marry in Barcelona. But Vicky received it with no enthusiasm, because Juan Antonio.
The relationship of Cristina and Juan Antonio became more familiar, until Cristina received Juan Antonio's request to move to his house.

Later on, Vicky accidentally meets with Juan Antonio in the library. To answer her feelings, Vicky was trying to ask Juan Antonio why he did not contact Vicky but contacted Cristina. Juan Antonio responds because he knows Vicky already has a fiancee and gets married soon, and he does not want to be the third person in Vicky's relationship. Vicky feelings towards Juan Antonio clapped one hand.
Finally came the day where Vicky married with Doug in Barcelona, while Cristina and Juan Antonio also already have a relationship that more familiar.

The life of Cristina with Juan Antonio began to be hit by a problem when Juan Antonio suddenly got the news that his ex-wife named Maria Elena tried to kill herself. In order not to take any dangerous action, Juan Antonio then bring Maria Elena back home. Cristina will inevitably have to accept the arrival of Maria Elena in Juan Antonio's house. Cristina also feels awkward about the proximity of Juan Antonio and Maria Elena, even though they only show it in a fight. But Juan Antonio still honor Cristina by asking Maria Elena to use english when speaking at home, so that Cristina can understand and there is no secret from Cristina.
The days, the closeness between Juan Antonio, Cristina, and Maria Elena became even more intimate. Maria Elena also turned into a more calm person with the life she had with Juan Antonio and Cristina. Until one day, Cristina found herself having different feelings towards Maria Elena. Cristina realized that she could not escape the physical attraction she had shown her, until finally unplanned, the three of them had a strange relationship.
Cristina realized that she could not go on living like she was now with Juan Antonio and Maria Elena, until she finally expressed her wish to leave from Juan Antonio and Maria Elena. Juan Antonio still does not understand, but he tries to calm down, unlike Maria Elena who hysterically faces Cristina's plan to leave.
Finally Cristina went to leave Juan Antonio and Maria Elena. Without the presence of Cristina, the life of Juan Antonio and Maria Elena like hell, they had a big argument until finally Maria Elena left Juan Antonio.

The departure of Cristina from Juan Antonio known Vicky because Cristina goodbye also to Vicky to go from Barcelona till the time when they have to go back to town.
While Vicky pursue the deepening of her language through courses in Barcelona, she feels her marriage life with Doug is very ordinary and flat. Until by accident, Vicky sees the affair that happened between Judy and another man. Embarrassed, Judy finally ends her dark relationship to Vicky because she feels her marriage life with Mark is no passion, or something that makes her alive, even though Mark is a very good man.
Judy's story makes Vicky aware of her feelings towards Juan Antonio that she can not forget even though she is married to Doug, a very good man.

Finally on one occasion, at a party held by Judy, Vicky reunited with Juan Antonio. Because Vicky knew the relationship between Juan Antonio and Cristina was over, Vicky accepted an invitation to Juan Antonio's home, reasoning to Doug that she had been invited by her language teacher to eat at her house before her departure left Barcelona. Doug of course allowing Vicky to leave. Vicky also looks nervous with her lie to Doug.

A secret encounter between Vicky and Juan Antonio almost leads to more intimate action until suddenly Maria Elena comes to the home of Juan Antonio and fires a shot. Juan Antonio and Maria Elena were quarreling and shouting hysterically. The confused Vicky did not know what to do but intended to go from the place, but apparently Maria Elena already fired a shot which then hit Vicky's hand. Vicky was hysterical because she had to cover back this lie with another lie to Doug who will surely worry about her wound.

After the shootings, Vicky expressed her feelings and all that she experienced with Juan Antonio to Cristina in truth. Of the story, Cristina also admits to Vicky that she already knows Vicky's feelings for Juan Antonio, but Vicky deliberately succumbs to her feelings because it is more concerned with the feelings of her friend who also likes the same man.

The holidays are over, Vicky and Cristina are leaving Barcelona to return to their home country and continue their respective lives.
